The problem of change

Web interfaces evolve. The elements an automated process expects to find can move or change, creating a rediscovery problem for the software interacting with them.

“Web element rediscovery system and method” addresses that problem. It is a concrete example of applied invention rooted in an engineering challenge.

A shared invention

I am a co-inventor alongside Anil Kumar and Rohith Nair. The US patent was granted on December 21, 2021, as US11205041B2, following application publication US20210049234A1.

The patent record provides the full technical description, claims, and inventor details. The invention concerns web element rediscovery; its scope is defined by that record.

Why it belongs in the story

This work connects my background in software quality with the engineering of reusable product capabilities. It reflects an interest in addressing a recurring source of fragility through a technical mechanism.

That same interest continues in my work on applied AI: understanding what changes in the operating environment, and how a system should behave when the conditions are different from those it first encountered.

A useful engineering idea starts with a specific failure mode and a mechanism for addressing it.
